It is very important to know some things about safety around helicopters. You can prevent an accident if you are cautious on ground. Even if you don't fly with SAS Helicopters - Special Air Services, keep these safety tips in mind. NEVER go out to the rear of the helicopter. Tail rotor located in the rear of the
helicopter is extremely hard to see and easy to forget. Always get out of the helicopter to its front, or directly on sideway, in the pilot's visual line. NEVER go under the tail of the helicopter to access the other side of the helicopter. Choosing this option you can be in danger of being hit by the propeller of the tail. Always go by helicopter front, whether it is running or stationary. NEVER raise your hands, arms or any other object when you are under the main propeller. Doing so can be hit by the propeller runner any time. Although it may seem that the main rotor is at a considerable distance from you, the main propeller can swing up to a few meters above or below the basic level of altitude. A good practice is to easy lean close to a helicopter in operation or to exit from it. Keep in mind that some models of helicopters have landing skate very low and the main rotor is very close to earth. NEVER descend from the helicopter on the slope. If that is positioned near or on a slope, always go out to the side of the aircraft downward slope. Avoid close by helicopter while running, except that you are permitted this by pilot. Always approach the helicopter from the front of it, in the view of the pilot.
